Quick answer: for CSAT after support conversations, Nicereply (from $59 a month billed annually) and Simplesat (from $119 a month billed annually) plug into help desks and survey customers when a ticket closes. For CSAT inside your product, Refiner and Survicate run in-app surveys on web and mobile, and Qualaroo has a free plan for up to 50 responses. If you already use Zendesk or Help Scout, check their built-in ratings first: Zendesk lists CSAT ratings and follow-up surveys on Suite Professional. Prices are as of October 2026, checked on each vendor's own site.
Customer satisfaction (CSAT) asks one question, usually "How satisfied were you with your experience?", on a short scale such as 1 to 5, and reports the share of positive answers. Our guide to what CSAT is and how to calculate it covers the formula. The software matters for three reasons: it sends the question at the right moment, it ties each answer to a ticket, agent or user, and it shows trends without a spreadsheet.
For a SaaS company, CSAT usually comes from two places:
Most teams also track Net Promoter Score and customer effort score. If NPS is the main metric you need, our list of NPS software compares tools built around it, and our guide to customer effort score explains when effort predicts churn better than satisfaction.

Who it is for: support teams that want CSAT, CES and NPS on every resolved ticket without building surveys themselves.
Pricing: Starter is $59 a month billed annually or $79 monthly, with 100 responses a month and 3 users. Essential is $119 billed annually ($149 monthly) with 250 responses and 10 users; Growth is $239 ($299 monthly) and Business $359 ($449 monthly). There is a 14-day free trial without a card. Source: Nicereply pricing.
Strengths: every plan includes all integrations, including Zendesk, Front and Help Scout, unlimited active surveys, and post-resolution, in-signature, link and website pop-up surveys.
Limits: response caps are low on the entry plans, so a busy support team will move up tiers quickly.
Who it is for: support teams that want CSAT tied to each agent and simple dashboards for the whole team.
Pricing: Starter is $119 a month billed annually or $149 monthly, with 300 responses a month, 5 account users and 1 brand. Pro is $249 billed annually ($299 monthly) with 1,000 responses; Premium is $499 ($599 monthly) with 2,500; Scale is $829 ($999 monthly) with 5,000. Source: Simplesat pricing.
Strengths: CSAT, NPS, CES and 5-star surveys, feedback for unlimited agents, and branded survey URLs from Pro. Simplesat says you can create unlimited surveys and are billed only when a customer submits feedback, and feedback over your limit is held until the allowance resets.
Limits: one-click email surveys count the first click as a response, so your response volume can climb faster than you expect.
Who it is for: product, CX and research teams that want CSAT across email, website, in-app and mobile in one tool.
Pricing: Growth starts at $114 a month billed annually, with 250 survey responses and 1,000 data points a month and 10 user seats. Pro starts at $349 a month, billed monthly or annually, with a custom pool of responses. There is a 10-day free trial without a card. Source: Survicate pricing.
Strengths: unlimited multichannel surveys, a mobile app SDK, targeting by attributes and events, 25+ integrations and an AI agent with an MCP server. It also lists Intercom surveys among its channels.
Limits: the response pool on Growth is modest for high-traffic products, and higher limits need a sales call.
Who it is for: SaaS companies that want CSAT inside the product, triggered by what a user just did.
Pricing: priced by monthly active users, with unlimited survey responses on every paid plan and about 17% off for annual billing. Essentials and Growth are self-serve with a free trial; an enterprise plan is through sales. Source: Refiner pricing.
Strengths: in-app surveys for web and mobile, website pop-ups, email surveys and survey pages, ready-made CSAT templates, user segmentation, and native iOS and Android SDKs plus React Native and Flutter. Triggers include time delays, page visits and, on higher plans, tracked events.
Limits: no free plan, and the price depends on your MAU count, so model it before you commit.
Who it is for: teams that want targeted in-app and website surveys and are starting small.
Pricing: a forever free plan includes up to 50 responses with all premium features. Above that, Qualaroo points you to its Business plan, with pricing on request. Source: Qualaroo pricing.
Strengths: unlimited Nudge surveys in-app, on websites and by email, NPS, CSAT and CES in one place, advanced targeting by identity, behavior and location, and sentiment analysis on open-text answers.
Limits: the free plan's 50 responses suit a pilot, not an ongoing program.
Who it is for: teams that already handle tickets in Zendesk.
Pricing: customer satisfaction ratings with a follow-up survey are listed from Suite Professional, at $115 per agent a month paid yearly. Support Team ($19) and Suite Team ($55) do not include them. Source: Zendesk's pricing page.
Strengths: ratings attach to the ticket and agent automatically, with no extra tool to connect.
Limits: you pay for it per agent seat, and it measures support interactions only, not the product experience.
Who it is for: small support teams on Help Scout.
Pricing: the free plan covers 5 users; Standard is listed at $25 per user a month. Help Scout's pricing page lists surveys, CSAT and NPS that collect responses and ratings on your website or in your app. Source: Help Scout pricing.
Strengths: surveys live in the same widget as your help articles and chat, and reports show customer happiness by channel.
Limits: analysis is simpler than in a dedicated CX tool, so larger teams often add one of the tools above.
Who it is for: product teams that want a CSAT-style rating at a specific point in the product, such as the end of onboarding.
Pricing: a free tier covers 100 monthly tracked users and one component; Starter is $49 a month with 1,000 MTUs and two components. Full disclosure: PLG OS is our product. Source: PLG OS pricing.
Strengths: prebuilt in-app components for an onboarding experience survey with emoji ratings, inline feedback with ratings and comments, feature usage surveys and NPS, listed on its feedback and surveys page.
Limits: it is not a help desk survey tool, so it does not send post-ticket CSAT emails.
Decide first which CSAT you want to measure. If the question is "how did support do?", pick a tool that connects to your help desk and fires when a ticket closes: Nicereply and Simplesat are built for that, and Zendesk or Help Scout may already cover it. If the question is "how does the product feel?", you need an in-app survey tool that triggers on user behavior, such as Refiner, Survicate or Qualaroo. Our list of in-app survey tools compares more of them.
Then check how the vendor counts usage. Simplesat and Nicereply cap responses per month, Survicate caps responses and data points, and Refiner prices by monthly active users with unlimited responses. A product with many users and a high response rate can cost very different amounts on each model.
Finally, ask a follow-up question after the rating. A score without a reason tells you something changed but not what to fix. Keep CSAT to one rating and one optional comment, and send it close to the moment you are measuring. If support CSAT is part of a wider push to help users inside your product, our guide to in-app support tools covers the chat and help side.
For support CSAT, Nicereply (from $59 a month billed annually) and Simplesat (from $119 a month billed annually) connect to help desks and survey customers when a ticket closes. For in-app CSAT, Refiner and Survicate trigger surveys inside web and mobile apps.
Qualaroo has a forever free plan for up to 50 responses, Help Scout's free plan lists surveys and ratings, and PLG OS has a free tier for 100 monthly tracked users. Most others offer a free trial.
Yes. Zendesk lists customer satisfaction ratings with a follow-up survey on Suite Professional ($115 per agent a month paid yearly) and above. Support Team and Suite Team do not include them.
Send it right after the moment you want to measure: when a ticket or chat closes for support CSAT, or after a user finishes a task or onboarding for product CSAT. Keep it to one rating and one optional comment.
