Quick answer: Intercom Fin is the most flexible AI agent for SaaS, at $0.99 per outcome, and it can run inside Intercom or on top of Zendesk, Freshdesk or Salesforce. Zendesk AI agents come with every Zendesk plan (5 to 10 automated resolutions per agent a month included, then $1.50 to $2.00 each). Help Scout AI Answers costs $0.75 per resolution with a 3-month free trial. Front Autopilot charges by outcome tier, from $0.05 for triage to $0.89 for a resolution. Freddy AI Agent in Freshdesk includes 500 sessions once, then $49 per 100 sessions. For B2B support in Slack, Plain includes Ari. HubSpot Customer Agent and Crisp Hugo fit teams already on those platforms, and Sierra and Decagon serve enterprises through sales. Prices are as of October 2026, checked on each vendor's own site.
AI customer support software puts an AI agent in front of your human team. It answers questions from your help content, takes actions through integrations (for example checking an account or updating a record) and hands the conversation to a person when it cannot help. Some products are help desks with AI built in; others are standalone AI agents that connect to the help desk you already use.

Who it is for: SaaS teams that want an AI agent in an in-app messenger, whether or not they use Intercom's help desk.
Pricing: Fin costs $0.99 per outcome. With the Intercom help desk, seats start at $29 a month on Essential, billed annually. With another help desk, there is a $49 monthly minimum that includes 50 outcomes and no seat cost. Fin Voice is $1.99 per voice outcome through sales.
Strengths: an outcome is counted when the customer confirms the issue is resolved, does not ask for more help, or Fin completes a workflow. You are charged at most once per conversation, and nothing if Fin cannot answer or the customer asks for a human. Intercom adds spending limits and a 90-day money-back guarantee.
Limits: "no further help requested" counts as an outcome, so watch how that maps to real resolutions in your reports.
Who it is for: teams already on Zendesk, or teams that want AI agents from a large help desk vendor.
Pricing: included with every Zendesk Suite and Support plan. Support Team and Suite Team include 5 automated resolutions per agent a month and Suite Professional 10; extra resolutions cost $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go. Zendesk plans start at $19 an agent a month paid yearly.
Strengths: AI agents for messaging (web and in-app chat), email and voice, built from natural-language procedures, with support for 80+ languages and reasoning controls. Zendesk completed its acquisition of Forethought in March 2026 and says Forethought AI agents also work on other platforms.
Limits: voice agents need Zendesk voice, and agent-side Copilot is a separate $50 per agent add-on, paid yearly. Compare the wider suite in our Zendesk alternatives.
Who it is for: small SaaS teams on Help Scout that want an AI assistant in their Beacon widget with a clear per-resolution price.
Pricing: AI Answers is $0.75 per resolution, paid monthly, with a 3-month free trial and pre-paid discounts. Help Scout plans start free, and paid plans at $25 a user a month, billed annually.
Strengths: answers from your knowledge base and custom sources, set up by adding your website or other sources, with your team a click away for complex questions.
Limits: resolution charges grow with volume, so use the 3-month trial to measure your resolution rate before you commit.
Who it is for: teams that run support from Front's shared inboxes and want AI on the hard tickets as well as the easy ones.
Pricing: Front uses outcome-based pricing: $0.05 per conversation for triage, $0.39 for a handoff with context or a draft, and $0.89 for a full resolution, charged once for the highest outcome. Front plans start at $25 a seat a month, billed annually.
Strengths: pricing tiers that reward partial help (tagging, routing, drafts), plus Copilot at $20 a seat a month (included on Enterprise) and the option to connect external AI agents.
Limits: Autopilot is bought through Front's sales team, and you need a Front plan around it.
Who it is for: teams on Freshdesk or Freshchat.
Pricing: Freshdesk includes the first 500 sessions once per account on Growth, Pro and Enterprise, then sells sessions at $49 per 100. An email session is a 72-hour window from the customer's first email. Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent a month, billed annually.
Strengths: AI Agent Studio to build, test, deploy and monitor agents, and an email AI agent that handles back-and-forth replies.
Limits: after the one-time 500 sessions, AI is bought in packs. See our Freshdesk alternatives for other options.
Who it is for: B2B SaaS teams that support customers in Slack, email and in-app forms.
Pricing: Plain charges Ari at 100 credits per resolution. Foundation ($45 per user a month, billed annually) includes 1,000 credits a month, and extra credits cost $10 per 1,000, which works out to $1 per extra resolution.
Strengths: Ari answers customers while Sidekick, an internal agent, helps your team, both inside a help desk built around Slack, Linear and Jira.
Limits: credits are shared with other AI tasks, and Foundation allows up to 5 member seats.
Who it is for: teams whose CRM is HubSpot.
Pricing: included with Service Hub Professional (from $90 a seat a month) and Enterprise (from $150), plus one-time onboarding of $1,500 or $3,500. It uses HubSpot Credits; Professional includes 3,000 and Enterprise 5,000. Buyers of a Professional or Enterprise seat get 14 days of unlimited free use.
Strengths: answers across chat, email, forms and calling, and escalates to your team when needed.
Limits: not on Starter or the free tools, so check HubSpot's credit rates before you budget.
Who it is for: early-stage SaaS teams that want chat plus an AI agent at a flat monthly price.
Pricing: Crisp includes AI credits on paid plans: Mini ($45 a month per workspace) covers around 90 automated conversations, Essentials ($95) around 450 and Plus ($295) around 1,350. The free plan has no AI credits. Every plan has a 14-day trial.
Strengths: Crisp pairs Hugo with its chat widget, chat SDKs and shared inbox, and Plus adds unlimited task automations that connect the AI agent to other tools.
Limits: included volumes are modest, so higher-volume teams will need more credits.
Who it is for: companies that want one AI agent across chat, SMS, WhatsApp, email, voice and ChatGPT.
Pricing: not published. Sierra says it uses outcome-based pricing, so you pay for results the agent delivers.
Strengths: Ghostwriter builds agents from SOPs, transcripts or plain-English goals, with experiments, monitors and observability for every agent action.
Limits: no public pricing page, so cost is only known after a sales conversation.
Who it is for: enterprises in sectors such as financial services, travel, technology and retail.
Pricing: not published; Decagon offers demos only.
Strengths: AI agents for voice, chat and email, workflows for agents that it calls AOPs, live A/B tests, simulations at scale and always-on QA.
Limits: no public pricing, so it suits teams ready for an enterprise evaluation.
Ada publishes no prices (its pricing page asks you to book a demo) and blocks automated link checks, so we left it out. Gorgias and Gladly focus on ecommerce. Zoho Desk lets you build AI agents with up to 30M free tokens a month, and Hiver includes AI agents on every plan; both are covered in our Freshdesk alternatives post.
Start from your current help desk. If you are happy with it, the cheapest path is its own AI (Zendesk, Freddy, Help Scout, Front) or Fin on top. If you are replacing the help desk anyway, compare the full stack in our Zendesk alternatives guide.
Next, run your own numbers. Take last month's conversations, estimate how many the AI could fully resolve, and price that volume under each vendor's unit. Then decide how much you want automated: our piece on chatbot vs real-time support covers when a human should step in.
If what you need is an AI assistant inside your product rather than a full help desk, look at in-app options too. PLG OS Help Hub is an AI assistance chatbot that sits inside your product and can also share updates and collect feedback; PLG OS lists an add-on of 2,000 AI replies for $9 a month. Our help hub software roundup compares similar tools.
